Do u think my English could be better?

Hello fellow Linux users, I going ask u something personal about my blog, please answer honest on this question. I got on http://kerkraadse-kde-user.blogspot.com/2009/08/kubuntu-910-unstable.html a reaction from a dutch person who says my english would be bad and not readable.

Now I know from myself, and I don't tell this often, that I have fairly good English for someone who does not speake native english and does have not English classes, neither did I on school, and I dont go to university.

If u think I could make my english better, please tell me which program will be best for that, I already watch many tv shows in English.

Please comment on this one, I need to know it, I wanna keep writing blogs when I have something to share with u people.

Hi Seeker,

I'm a native English speaker living in NL and if my Dutch ever get's to be as good as you're English - I'll be very happy indeed.

To quote an old Irish Proverb

Feck the begrudgers.

Hi,

Here is the honest truth. I had a look around the blog, and yes, your english can be quite bad. Don't be offended, there's no reason for it. For someone without education, your english is reasonable but a lot of times lacks clarity and proper structure. You are probably making a direct translation from dutch to english. With classes your english would reach a decent level very quickly, in one year you could probably write a very decent text in an informal style. think about it.

I think you asked if you should switch to dutch. On technical articles, where you share information that's not easy to find, I think it would be great if you still wrote those in english. Opinion articles.... stick to the dutch for now.

True I haven't had any real English classes, just some basics classes on school and before I know it they kind off stopped giving English classes.

I have to agree sometime I just don't check if I wrote something wrong, but I lack grammar in Dutch and English.

It would be better of course taking classes, but I don't have the money really, my Thai girlfriend said to me: I should go study English, though I don't know good program for it which works on Linux.

I don't translate Dutch to English, I just know how to speak it, when I translate English back to dutch its gets harder.

The reason I write in English is because only small amount speaks Dutch, and its just not worth it if your writing about Linux, then u should better write in a language that most people understand.
